Hello, looking to replace my stock and forend with a Boyd's laminated (previous owner butchered stock). On the Boyd's website they show the forend with no end caps. On my forend there are blued caps (rings) on each end. Are these end caps removable and do I install them on the Boyd's forend?

Boyd's couldn't or wouldn't tell me and I don't want to order them until I know first.

Thanks in advance.

the rear ring is part of the slide tube.
the front ring has 2 slots in it to remove.
remove the slide and forend.
remove the front ring and pull the wood of the slide

To remove that top ring, put some electrical tape along the bottom edge of a stiff butter knife and side it in both slots and twist. The tape will keep you from buggering the nut.

YOu're very welcome, best of luck!

Oh if the nut has a hard time coming off (they can be very fickle on older ones)
a little WD40 helps. Don't fight it.
