I decided to detail strip my M37 M&P today after a match since I got some dirt into the action and I had not done it in awhile. As I am trying to remove the forend tube, I cant get it off. I'm starting to think I'm going nuts because I have retracted the slide pin but the forend is not moving. I finally realize that something is wrong.

Turns out the slide pin has snapped right past the retaining pin. It was fun trying to get it apart. I had to hold the broken part back into the bolt carrier while tapping on the side of the reciver. It finally came out.

The good thing is that the gun ran an entire match without issue and it could have broken months ago, so at least I know the gun is roubust. Now I will see how good the Ithaca parts department is. I ordered the part tonight ($4 for the pin and $4.95 shipping). The bad news is this is my primary HD weapon. I guess now I have to rely on the Glock for awhile............that doesn't make me happy.

I've ordered parts dozens of times from them. Zak is tops and will get your parts out fast.

Here is a picture of the slide pin in question. Snapped right where it comes out of the bolt carrier. Looks like a MIM part.

Got the new pin from Ithaca's part department today. Pretty good turnaround time. Now I can put the combat tupperware back on the wife's side of the bed.
