Cheers all... just joined today.

I have a question about the recoil spring. I hope this doesn't come off as too much of a newb thing... I searched the maintenance area for existing posts related.

I have an XL 300. It was used. The first time I fired it it seemed to do very well, although I did note the ejection seemed very hard (casings flew a long long way). Afterward I noticed the control lever was missing, so it had flown off. I was told later that the recoil spring might be bad and the cause. After disassembling and looking for where the spring should be, it seems there isn't one at all.

I'm looking for a manual or an assembly diagram to confirm. Sources, comments or some extra direction would be appreciated.
