This has come up more than a couple times in another place.

What camo do you wear? I'm not real super traditional, I some of the new Mossy Oak stuff like the Advantage and DuckBlind, but my preferences are really for multi-cam, ATACS, or good ol' woodland bdu's.

I like the milsurp stuff cuz its cheap. I just got two woodland bdu jackets for $5 each and in really good shape! The ATACS is expensive and I have only seen it available online. I like it, but I dont know that it would really blend here where most of the terrain is wooded. It may work in grasses.

Heres the multi-cam;

And the ATACS;

We have to wear orange here too. For things like bird, camo isnt at all needed, but in some cases, sure, why not! ;)

I use anything with break up in/on it. I even have a blaze orange hat with break -up . Have had deer look right at me wearing this thing in a tree stand with a bow pointed his direction and go back to eating. So I am convinced , for deer anyway, just don't move and don't be a solid object. On top of that ...don't smell bad and shush! :mrgreen:

The only time I really wear camo is when turkey or squirrel hunting. Any of the other types of hunting that I do does not require it. In the end I think that for still hunting, breaking up your outline and being still are the two most important things.

I have some ASAT that I sometimes wear when I'm hunting with my recurve or longbow. But even then I mostly prefer to wear earthtone plaids rather than camo. I never wear camo when hunting with a firearm simply because I don't feel it's necessary.

I have several types/colors, etc. of camo that I wear depending on the time of year that I'm hunting. I mostly use it during bow season as I still hunt or post up in a dead fall or hub blind. For gun season in Ohio, I ware camo with an orange vest so other hunters will see me. I have a Columbia camo hooded parka I put on when it's really cold. I'll layer lighter weight clothing with a light weight camo exterior, when the temps are more forgiving.

I've been wearing multicam while hunting quail. Totally un neccessary I know, but I like it! What I really like, is BDU's period cuz I like the extra pockets. It isnt cold enough yet to go to anything heavier...

I'm like you Rossignol...I tend to wear camo to break up my outline, but also to have the pockets that come with the BDU's, for storing everything from gloves to extra ammo to beef jerky.

YES! You have to have a place to keep snacks and other important stuff! ;)

Cell phone, dog whistle and collar transmitter, gloves, I almost always have a dog lead rolled up in a pocket too...

Since i hunt with a dog, I just wear my green canvas bibs, green canvas jacket with blaze vest and a blaze orange. Considering that the dog announces my presence long before I ever could I find there is no real need to break up my outline.
