Out last evening for a hunt.Checked out two really good spots.Never saw or heard a bird.

Was talking to another hunter today and he told me the samething,he has not seen or heard a bird since the season opened.

From reading the posts on the Nova Scotia Hunting web site it would appear that what birds are around seem to be in the middle section of the Province in the Pictou County/Guysbourgh County areas.

Funny how things work like that. Go get 'em 28g ;) I haven't been out hunting for a while now but I have midterm exams coming up so I definitely can't get out right now. Anyways good luck! Hope you bag a few

Well finally saw my first partridge(ruffed grouse)of the year.It bust out of a spruce tree almost right beside me as I was working my way through some buck brush.Just barely saw it.Not enough time to even get a shot off.O well,at least I know there is one still alive in my area.LOL

We don't have grouse down here, but it sure does sound fun. I'd like to try my hand at that sometime. It sounds like the Ithaca should be potent grouse medicine with it's light weight and fast pointing. Good luck this season!

Not a great day for partridge hunting as it was very windy.Went out and checked out a lot of good spots, nothing.About 5:50 PM the wind let up and in the next three spots I went in I scared a bird at each one.One I just saw,one I just heard and the last one I got a quick shot off with my 28 gauge Ithaca Model 37 as it disappeared in the woods. No birds but at least I had a shot and for this season thats not bad.LOL
