the hunting around here has been lousy but I still went out only because my dog enjoyed it so much. And because of that I still enjoyed it too. Hey, it beats working!

One day I was hunting with the farmer's daughter and my 2 springers. They flushed a rooster and she missed her two shots then I shot it. My dogs ran out in the field for the retrieve. When we started again my young one was making a ruccuss in the tall grass, when she came out she had a large live rooster in her mouth. Because she was on the farmer's daughter's side of the ditch I gave her credit for the bird.
