I am a new member. DS3 owner since 08. Not used to slug hunting with a scope. Thumbhole stock makes gun easy to carry. Gun is heavy for driving deer, but is managable if you work at it. See thru site rings and bead on front of barrel make up close and personal encounters happen. 1st deer on the ground with the weapon came at a one shot doe kill at 217 yards slightly uphill from a kneeling position offhand. Figured I would see if the gun could perform as advertised? Can't wait for ole bush head to walk out and drop him like a rock. I am pleased with the gun so far and no viable complaints to this point. Would reccomend to anyone purchasing one of these to formulate your own opinion on ammo ballistics. Find out what works best with your platform and the gun is very deadly. My deer hunting consits of the shotgun season in Ohio and this gun makes opening day seem like Christmas every year. 2 more weeks baby and the lead will be flying.

what slugs do u use? ive tried several, still can't get group i expected.

I currently am using Remington Accutip 2 3/4 ballistic tip. Holding 3 1/2 groups offhand at 100 yards. Winchester Partion Gold also work real well in this gun. Last time I tried Hornady SST's they were inconsistent from one box to the next, so I switched. Start with a real slow slug at 25 yards, dial that in then switch to the faster brands at 25. Zero the faster brand in at 25 and everything is automatic with a BDC reticle scope.
