I have a chance on a circa 1982 Model 37 magnum. It is a safe queen and in almost as new condition. It has a 30" full choke barrel. I seem to be getting conflicting information on using steel shot through this choke. I do not shoot a lot of steel but usually it is BB or #1 for geese. I could always get it opened up to at least modified but I'm wondering if I'm safe as is. Is there usually enough meat on these barrels to safely do this? The asking price is $425 Canadian $ and I'm assuming another $80 to open it up which seems to bump the cost to the limit for me. Open to all suggestions/ comments.
Thanks

I'm sure the Model 37 magnum barrel can safely handle steel shot through that choke...

I have yet to make up my mind I would really like to get it but I don't want to ruin it either. I suppose I could always open the choke up if there is enough meat there. Has anyone else here used heavy steel in a magnum full Choke?
Thanks
