I just acquired an Ithaca Model 37-16 Deerslayer II with a gold inlayed deer head on the receiver and gold numbering 1 of 200. I called Ithaca and they could tell me nothing about the gun except that it was mfg. in 2001. I read elsewhere this is a Kings Ferry made gun. Can anyone tell me anything else about it or point me to where I can find some info? Obviously having the #1 gun in a batch of 200 is something special but I'm wondering why not more info is readily available.

Your gun's markings do not show that you have the #1 gun of the run. You have any one of the 200 made.

I suspect there are two factors in the lack of information on your gun. First the Ohio Ithaca Gun Co. had no involvement what so ever in the King Ferry guns. I believe the bought it around about 2007 or so. Second there have been a number of limited edition runs of the model 37 and it can be difficult to keep up with them all.
