Okay, a fellow member on this board just recommended that an Ithaca 37 fan like myself should read the book by Walt Snyder that covers the Ithaca company. I was ready to buy one until I saw the lofty price. My guess is that it's well worth the money but I don't know that I'm ready to spend $400 to nearly $600 for one.

I have also seen people recommend Bruce Canfield's book on military shotguns.

Would anybody care to please chime in with your thoughts on these books?

Are there any other recommendations for books one should read if he wants to learn about the 37?

My guess is that Walt Snyder and Bruce Canfield pretty much have it all covered.

$400 is an awful lot of money to spend on a book, I would appreciate reading all your thoughts regarding this book.

Thank you much!

There are two books by Walt Snyder. The one that DR shows "Ithaca Featherlight Repeaters" and another called "The Ithaca Gun Company" The second is more about the whole Ithaca company and the many guns they have produced. The first is just about the model 37 and 87. Both are excellent reading and they are not that expensive. have seen them on Ebay for $200 to $250. But they don't sell. Some body is trying to make money. They are easily found for $75 to $90 each and try looking around for them. Good luck.
