Just wanted to share my first ever Ithaca 37, a military and police model. To my fellow Ithaca 37 enthusiasts, thank you for all the advice, pointers, and suggestions that you have provided and continue to provide! It is sincerely appreciated and I'm thankful to be a member of this forum among fellow model 37 fans. |

It looks brand new was it a used shotgun?

Thanks Shooter13, unfortunately this one may not lead to a range report, though it was sold as used and having been fired, now that I have it in my possession it appears to have never been fired. I'm still figuring it out. If the gun was never fired, I am "one of those" who has a hard time bringing myself to shoot a gun. Foolish, I know, and part of me says: "You're getting old, enjoy it, shoot it...", or maybe I won't.
I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet, aside from admire it, as silly as that sounds... Ithaca Nut, the story on this goes that a gentleman bought it in the early 70's, fired it a few times, wrapped it up and put it away. He himself passed away recently and this was part of his estate sale. Other than the forearm having been pumped and removing some finish on the magazine tube, the gun looks new. Well, I'm backwards and forwards on whether I'll shoot it or not, but I promise, when I do, a range report will be forthcoming, and if I join the modern age, maybe I'll have bought a camera to record a video. |

Shoot it...Life is short !!

I fixed that little dilemma of having a "too nice to shoot" Ithaca 37 M&P, no more worries about dings, scratches, scuffs, etc. etc. etc.

Congrats...enjoy it !!
