My first (of three, currently) and favorite - my Dad's (RIP) 1941 M37R in 16ga. The first gun that I ever fired. I still shoot skeet with it regularly.

I just built this one from pieces parts. I have to redo the lacquer on the buttstock as I messed it up when shooting it. Once it gets warm I will strip and redo it.

That buttstock actually started life as a late 50's/early 60's one that I was given. It was cracked. I fixed the crack and added material to the bottom of the grip and reprofiled it

Picked this 20-ga baby up yesterday. Hoping to glean some information here as to when it was produced. I was checking out the serial numbers on ithacagun.com, but I'm not sure which model this is. From the serial range (348001-413000), I'm going to assume this is a Repeater Pump, manufactured in 1951. There is a number "4" below the serial number on the barrel.

The -4 after the serial number is the choke designation. In this case -4 is a full choke. You have a model 37. Judging from the checkering shown in the picture your gun was made between 1946 and 1954 so 1951 is about right.

Here are three of my latest finds of some old 37s.
1. Top gun: 1946 model 37R 12 gauge, Solid rib, 30" full choke
2. Middle gun: 1938 model 37 12 gauge, 30" full choke
3. Bottom gun: 1942 model 37 16 gauge, 27" polychoke

All three function great but I'll have to do a little cosmetic work to them. Thanks Donald

I like looking at these picture threads. There are some beautiful guns on here. Everybody has some wonderful old pieces. I have a few pics I dug up, as well.

That is a beautiful stock, you normally don't find one so nicely figured on a field model. WHat year is that one on the bottom? THat has to be a pre-war.

Man that is a nice stock!

my 37's. The 20 solid rib was bought my my Dad in 1952 when stationed in Nebraska in the Air Force. He wanted to try his hand at pheasant hunting. He didnt like the choked barrel so he took it to a gunsmith and had the Cutts installed. It was the only quail gun he ever carried.
I wanted a 37 in 16 ga. for a while so I found one last year with a solid rib and found a guy in AZ who had a Cutts for it. I took it to my gunsmith and had the cutts installed and told him to go ahead and reblue the whole thing. It looks brand new.
Now I need a 12 with a solid rib to complete the set.
NOT interested in a 28 LOL.
