My only Ruger...

The LCP is one pistol that I love to CARRY, but absolutely HATE to SHOOT. I thought I would need a hand transplant before I got through enough rounds to feel like I had it properly broken in. All that said, it is flawless in function. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from the inside but it is reliable and serves its purpose as a pocket pistol.

My wife has commandeered it recently. I took her Bersa CC out for some range time and gave her the LCP to carry for the day. BIG MISTAKE! Now she won't give it back cause she loves that she can't feel any extra weight in her purse. I personally think I could put a bowling ball in there and she would't notice...

My one and only Ruger...sold two Rugers ( P85DC and a Security Six...both bought used for $200 apiece ) to purchase this one...I think it was a good deal back in 2005...and since it's an original Vaquero (1993-2005), it has the larger, stronger frame. It handles the hottest magnum loads with ease and is a real sweetheart with wadcutters.

Here is Big bertha. A Super Redhawk in .454 Casull. Thankfully I can shoot .45 colt in it so I can practice with it often. those .454's hurt! I wear it when I hunt in bear country. The holster is from el Paso saddlery and is a left handed cross draw. I wear it over my front pocket. It can wear you down if you wear it on your hip.

Oh it is shooter. It is unbelieveably strong. Alot less bulky than a .500, too. That sleekness comes at a price, though. Those .454's kick like mules. Only reason I own it is because I hunt in the middle of a very thriving bear population and I figured #6 shot would only just get the bear even more mad. the holster helps. El Paso has some really nice stuff. They've been making holsters and leather gear for over a century and have made items for such diverse people as John Wesley Hardin and John Wayne.

I will say this, if the recoil doesn't sting you too much, I would recommend this over a .500 as it is alot easier to carry.
