My Mossberg 500 Cruiser...8+1 shots of 12 guage from a pistol gripped 20" barrel with bead sights and heat shield.

Here is a picture of my first shotgun...a Stoeger Uplander side by side or double as they are sometimes refered to by shotgun aficionados.
She is a 12 gauge field grade model that come with American Walnut stocks and a 26" ribbed barrel that is fixed choked IC & M and has a gold bead sight. Weight is around 7.5lbs unloaded. I bought her for $180 way back in the day...before the company was bought by Sako, then Benelli, then by Berretta. She retails now for around $400 today... I took my very first deer with a "pumpkin ball" slug on a hunting trip with my father, and have used it since then to take duck, pheasant, quail, turkey, rabbit, fox, groundhog, and just about any other small game you can think of. |

Picked this up at a gun show 3 weeks ago.
20 GA Remington 1100. Just thought it looked nice. Seemed to shoot well at the dove field for about 75 rounds. It froze up with a round stuck in the mag tube. Took it home for a thorough cleaning and all seems OK now. Gun shop said they had seen this before in 1100's running Winchester loads through them. Hope their right on that. The round that was stuck did have a good scrape in the plastic "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes"

Just wondering if anyone else here is using a 28 gauge? Is so what do you have and what do you use it for?

Those 1100 20 ga are great guns. I have a 1100LT that was my dad's before he handed it down to me some years ago and it has been flawless. I couldn't count the quail, rabbits, and doves that it has brought home.
One thing though, I don't shoot Winchester shells, especially the promos, though anything. There are many reports of them getting stuck even in pumps. Those Winchester shells are definitely not what they used to be. Stick with Remingtons and Federals and I bet it will be fine. Great guns! Wade |

WOW! If the Zombie Apocalypse ever happens, I want to be with you guys! I only have one defense type shotgun, a BPS high capacity with a poly-choke. All the rest of my shotguns are walnut and blue field guns (except for one model 37 with a synthetic stock and wooden forearm). Cool guns guys.

This one's a bit newer than the others, but was discontinued in the early 70s...

Dreadnought No. 1
Have a few 870s and a while back had a thing for the big Remington Super Mags. This is Dreadnought No. 1 (as there is a No. 2 in the works). This pic was right before it was finished and didn't have sights on it. An 870 Super Mag (3 1/2 inch 12ga) with a factory 23-inch rifle-sighted Rem choked barrel, some awesome wood, a Tactical Ordnance magazine tube extension and Clark clamp. All Parkerized in a light gray. It is a beast to be sure. |

One more for tonight...

talking about case coloring with Lazy eyed sniper reminded about the most beautiful gun I have ever owned. It's a Rizzini Artemis 20 gauge. It is absolutely gorgeous, but alas I couldn't hit a barn with it. It just didn't fit me, so I had to sell it. I still haven't found a gun as pleasing to the eye that sells for under $3000

Thanks Rossignol. That photo doesn't even do it justice. It was absolutely iridescent. I hated like anything to get rid of it, but I just couldn't hit with it. I went from 23-24's down to 15-16's. That's how bad it was. --Jim
