I don't post here much, but I'm a pocket knife nut trading, buying, selling a few every month. I really like traditional folders. This is my latest acquisition! I've looked for one I could afford for years, finally I got it AND I have another just like it but better on the way!

This is what my Pa, my hero carried. It's a Case 6375 (4.25 inches) stockman. It's a XX made from 1940 - 1964. I'm beside myself.

Thank you sir! She takes a real edge and snaps like a gator. I've got one like it from the early 2000's and there's no comparison. Even worn and old this one is still the better knife.

Nice knife, Col, I have a stockman, too. The thing is like a razor blade on a stick. Their alloys are the best. I always tell people, there are pocket knives and there are case pocket knives.

Lol. Daddy always said you couldn't farm without a Case knife and a Zippo lighter, two of the handiest tools on the farm.

My favorite Case stockman knives are the 6347, 6392, and 6375.

I love my stockman, Col, It always amazes me how sharp I can get all three blades. I also have a fixed hunter and a full sized trapper that I have had for years. And yea, I also have the zippo lighter, too!
It used to light my cigar but since I quit, It is my emergency flame.

Mmmmm, cigars. I used to partake occasionally, but I haven't in a long time. The last time I was in Honduras I got a big box of Don Melo cigars. Now they were nice, real nice. Matter of fact I still have some.

I was pretty much a professional grade cigar smoker. But after having surgery to remove a prostate that was trying to kill me, I decided it wasn't a good idea to tempt fate and try to make it 2 for 2

Believe me, I loved the taste. Still do. You'll quit when you are ready though, and you'll know when that is.

I think they both have a place and use. A plain blade, I think it more suited for "everyday" use, but a serrated blade can be very useful in some situations.

True. A serrated blade like on my Leatherman tool (indespensible) workd great for cutting tubing, fuel line, or those blamed clam shell packages.

But I draw the line at those half serrated, tanto point, spaceship looking knives.

I had laugh a little there, Colonel. I can't begin to count the number of times I've cursed, cussed, and generally got unsettled over those damn clamshell packages! I feel your grief there. I use one of those folding utility knives to deal with those and hope I don't ruin whatever's inside in the process!
