Just found this site. I have an ithaca SKB 900 recoil operated in 12 ga. My Grandad bought this new I think in 1968 for me, so I have shot it a lot. Recently while trap shooting with the wife I noticed the forestock was clacked on the end. Has anyone had this happen? I am also looking for a replacement forestock

Check on Ebay. Sometimes they come up. Make sure it is a SKB 900 because they are indeed Recoil and often the wood is dark. Others confuse the 900 with a XL900 that is gas operated and the forarms and stocks are different. Make sure they are tight. They often come a bit loose and then with the recoil they will crack. Good luck.

Thanks. I think that's what has happened in this case. I've looked on eBay but haven't found one yet. Have been talking to Les & he might have one.

I suggest that when you get your replacement forend to have the other one repaired so you always have a spare in case it happened again. Long Recoil operated shotguns tend to be very hard on the forend.

I am sending the forestock to Les. He looked at the pix and thinks its repairable. Crossing my fingers. I tried to post some pix but they are too large of this site. I took them with an iPad. Can't seem to get them smaller any suggestions?
