Wotchya, forum.

I'm Mark and live in Hampshire, UK. I've been shootin' for about two years doing both clays and PSG.

I have two, nearly identical M37 Ithacas in DSPS variant with 24" barrels which is the UK legal minimum.

I'd be *very* keen to meet other UK M37 owners since I've only ever seen two M37s "in the flesh" so to speak and, of course, they're both mine.

It's a shame that Ithaca has such a poor representation in UK since I *really* like 'em. Most people think that they are Mossbergs. no doubt because of the "corn cob" fore-ends.

When I get around to it, I'll post a photo of my "babies"; enthusiasts on another forum seem to think that it was *normal" for DSPSs to have "bling" (hunting scenes on the sides, etc) whereas mine seem to what was described as "M&P" versions - they are *very* plain, indeed.

That's enough waffle from me.

Regards,

Mark.

Tardy, I know but "Thanks for the replies, guys!"

Regards,

Mark.

P.S. I'm awaiting delivery of another M37 that I've managed to find. I bought it "sight unseen" but I *do* know that it's a "posh" Ithaca. (That is, it's blued and not Parkerised...)

Hello, Gaz.

Nearest city? I'd certainly like to meet with other M37 owners.

I actually found your "noobie" thread before seeing your reply to mine.

I know this reply is a bit tardy but I frequent a few shootin' forums and the order of "polling" goes something like this:

Pigeon Watch (UK)
AirgunBBS (UK)
The High Road (USA)
The Firing Line (USA)
Shotgun World (USA)
ShootingUK (UK)
GunMart (UK)
Ithaca Owners (USA)

Those last two are relatively new and it'll take a little time for them to get up to speed.

As you may have gathered, I have two M37 DSPS shotguns and I've bought another which is like yours - a "posh", *blued* one. The posh one is currently being restricted to S.2 before it's shipped to me. Since it was bought "sight unseen", as yet, I've actually no idea *what* I've bought...

What d'you use yours for? I shoot clays but I'm not "fanatical" about it. It don't shoot anything living simply because I don't consider myself a good enough shot with a shotgun. (For vermin, I shoot at close range with an air rifle.)

If you need parts for your Ithaca, you're going to have a hard time. For example, MidwayUK aren't interested in helping you.

I've been having on-going extraction problems with my M37s and this has now got to the point that it's spoiling my enjoyment of the guns. A couple of weeks ago, I broke a firing pin and, to compound matters, I also discovered that I had a couple of splits in the stock of my main gun.

As a result, I've had another go at obtaining spares and, at long last, Ithaca now says that they *can* ship spares to the UK. (Oh, joy!) However, I haven't actually *bought* any, yet. I'm not counting those chickens *just* yet...

Anyway, that's enough waffle from me.

Glad to see another Limey in the fold, Gaz.

Bye fer now.

Regards,

Mark.

P.S. I've just discovered a user notification option. With a bit of luck, I'll now be a bit quicker to respond to posts...

Hello mate,

I'm in Leicester, bit of a way from you.

I'll have a go at shooting anything, it's mostly WP's for me though, mainly because I enjoy eating them ;)

A mate of mine (37fan) on here lives in Cambridgeshire and he's got an M.37 too. It's nice to know there are a few over here

How do, Gaz?

Ah, so an eye-ball ain't *sooo* likely, then.

I tried wood-pigeon once but, as I understand it, they're best cooked lightly and I prefer "cremated" meat, m'self.

Quite right. (By the way, I've still not taken delivery of my latest ("posh") M37. The money's disappeared from the bank so I can only assume that the gun is still being proofed after the S.1->S.2 conversion.)

Regards,

Mark.
