I found this site on the internet and decided to join. I own a 1965 Ithaca model 37 DS/PS, sn 902XXX,
that was surplused out of a Michigan State Police armory in 1984 or 85. It's in trench gun configuration, but has the rear sighted barrel and a heat shield with a modified front sight. The buttstock has a steel buttplate. I'm not sure if it was sold to the MSP as a trench gun or an MSP armorer added the parts to make a trench gun. The dealer had 8 other shotguns from the MSP, all with serials from 900,000 to over 1000000. Each one was in the same configuration, and several shotguns had a 1917 bayonet.
I've had the gun for over 20 years, and occasionally take it out and shoot low recoil buckshot.
