I own 3 Ithacas first one I bought in 1970and it was a mod37 12ga with just a mod bird barrel #2 was purchased in 1972 and it was a smooth bore deer slayer with an extra 30" bird barrel and #3 was purchased in 1999 a model 87 deer slayer with a rifled barrel. I wouldnt trade these guns for anything. My son uses the 1972 deer slayer each deer season and I use the mod 87 for sitting and the 1970 model is my walking gun for deer. I truly enjoy using these guns and the accuracy of the rifled barrel is outstanding. Its great to see Ithaca up and manufacturing great fireearms again
