This is my first post but wanted to say hello. I am from Charlotte, NC and while I work in banking my true passion is the outdoors. I've been looking for a quality NID in 20gauge with 26inch barrels choked imp cyl & mod for quite some time and finally found one last week. Needless to say I am still beside myself with joy at finally finding exactly what I wanted.

As for the gun serial # looks like it was made in 1926, field grade, 20 gauge, 26" barrels, imp cyl & mod, double triggers, extractors, foreend wood has a couple rough handling marks and theres a couple scratches in the finish on the stock too but no cracks anywhere. Metal looks good with no rust or pitting but the bluing is aged and appears thinner near the breaches but not gone. The color case looks mostly gone and its just sort of goldish brownish, silverish.

So heres the neat part. I found this gun by just mentioning that I was lokking for one to a casual aquaintance of 2 years and he told me he had exactly what I wanted. After going to his house and shooting the gun for a while he completely floored me when he told me that the gun was actually bought by a distant relative of mine in 1927 whom sold it to this gentlemans dad in 1958 because the original buyer had no one to pass it on to and now my aquaintance who has become to elderly to hunt wanted to do the same so it is now back with the family albeit distant relationship.

My aquaintance also said that in 1969 his father wrote Ithaca and received some sort of papers on the gun which his wife is looking for and which I'll be able to have as well. Pretty cool indeed.

Trying to ad photos but keep getting an error that the file is too large. Any tips? Not exactly the sharpest on computer stuff. Thanks!
