Wonderful to find an Ithaca owners forum. My Great Grandfather, Grandfather, and Father all retired from Ithaca Gun. I remember my Dad taking me to the shop and adding to the lead contamination(we didn't know it then) of the falls up on Gunshop Hill.
Right now, I own only one 20 Ga. Model 37 From 1947(Grandfather built). Am hoping to increase my inventory of these flawless long guns.

Anyone have information on Ithaca employees from approx 1937 to 1959? Employees named Joseph Durling,(not sure of job,but may have been associated with barrel boreing), Joseph Franklin Kramer,(receiver machinist) or Joseph Francis Stilwell(reciever/barrel inspector)?
Thanks for any help,
Gary Stilwell

Welcome sir! Wow I can't wait to hear some of those old stories that you must have. And you have perhaps the best of all the Ithacas. I have two 20 gauges from 51 and 52. They are fine shotguns.

Sorry it's been so long--too busy and the PC's been unruly.
I have some pics of the old gun shop in Ithaca. They are hard copies, so I need to scan--as soon as I can--
Some stories-I do remember my father helping me shoot rifles(.22) and a BIG(at the time) handgun out the window at the test range(shot across Fall Creek). I remember that gun almost hitting me in the head when it went off--even with my Dad helping to hold it. I now am sure what it was - a 1911 they made--man I wish I had that thing now!
