No, it isn't mine. I remember talk of these and have seen other pictures, but being a class 3 weapon now they're hard to find and afford. Can you imagine shooting both barrels at once? What a street sweeper! |

i was fingering one a few weeks ago at a local gun show.
7k and classIII paperwork and it could be yours. but you are right they would be a handfull the way the grip sits in the hand is pretty akward in fact i think it'd be pretty hard to touch off both at the same time |

What gets me is, they apparently issued a holster with this thing!

I have never shot one, but I have heard from few old timers it was like trying to control a pissed off python.
As I recall, in the film "el Dorado" The James Caan Character carried something like this. I also remember that when he shot it, the recoil almost put the gun in the middle of his fore head. --Jim

Somewhere in a gun magazine I saw a picture of Doc Holliday's 10 ga. street sweeper, a cut down double about the same size as the Auto Bugler. Doc had a ring soldered to the rib and a leather shoulder sling arraingement attached to wear under his coat. The grip on Doc's 10 ga. looked a lot more comfortable to shoot, like it would roll up in the hand like a Colt SAA when fired rather than comming straight back. Either gun looks like they kill at both ends. |

ithaca did make a series of guns in the 80s with a more standard pistol grips
they were the bear stoppers and stake out guns the bear stoppers were a legal 18.5" however the stakeouts were 13.25" and came in either 12g or 20g in any finish requested. and availible to only classIII&VI permit holders the even cut out a special "bonnie&clyde" set. a chrome 12g stakeout and a 20g blued stakeout in a fancy case. i guess the most famous example is;an ithaca 37 stakeout was the gun used by the tubbs character in the show "Miami Vice" |

On the old cop shows, ADAM-12 and Barney Miller, they used M 37's also. |

Check out Beverly Hill Cop and the Eiger Sanction. 37's in both, too. --Jim
