Hello...I have aquired a nitro special that has been neglected...triggers don't fire sometimes, one barrel is dented...I have almost completely disassembled the firearm for a thorough cleaning as it is caked with crud...I'm having trouble removing the top lever after the spring has been removed...I have no manual, only schematic from Diamondgunsmithing site...the slotted screw on the post under the top lever is the key to removing the top lever?...I still have not been able to loosen this screw...also are there two very small screws that retain the firing pins?...what would be the safest solution to soak the receiver in to remove all the crud?...any comments would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Ithaca Owners Forum JBAR !!

I've found that a penetrating oil like WD-40 works well at loosening screws and helping to remove the aforementioned crud...

Post a picture or two when you find the time...
