They still make the M37 trap model, you can get it in either a 60/40 or 70/30 rib. Home defense 8 shots are no problem, although they did go up quite a bit this year. I can get you anything you like, I just need an FFL to ship it to and you'll be in business. Sure, you can call me tomorrow afternoon if you like PM me and I can get you prices.
I wish I could say I have pull to get it released sooner, but they are dedicated to releasing it only after they are 100% sure it will be as durable as a knick or a flues. Or a crass for my good friend, Skeeter.
I've sold a few trap guns and they are pretty nice. the raised comb works very well (at least for me) and the best part is that you can change ribs and barrels at will.
Believe me, I am going to get one of the first ones and set up a table at every trap and skeet match i can and show it off. I know it will draw a crowd.

As soon as they are released I am personally driving out to Ohio and picking out wood to have a pair of his/her phoenix made and maybe their new larabee as well!

I am looking forward to the release of this one as well. Any word if a 16ga will be offered at some point.

Unknown at this point, but I would imagine if demand is high enough anything is possible. --Jim

If you do that, please give Joe and Mike a big smooch from me --Jim

Oh I am sure they'll love that! Seriously though, Joe and Mike (and everyone else for that matter, especially Zack) are some of the best. They have done so many favors for me I can't count them all.

Still lurking. Since there is no activity...I presume there is no update on release of the bird?
|
No Sir, no till the end of the year I have been told, I am afraid

There is a recent post on Shot Gun World stating that the prototype for the final revision is being machined now. The post also states that this model should be available around about the beginning of the year. Assuming that the post is accurate this is great news. While I did not get a chance to shoot the first prototype I did handle it and have a feeling that it will be of the quality that we all have been hoping for.

That's what I have been hearing. If it gets delayed anymore I am sure I will lose customers. I also hope they took some of my suggestions to heart and added in skeet and sporting models. Those are my target markets. --Jim

i don't expect much variation on release.
but it would be nice as much as owning the first one would be nice , i'm thinking i'll need to wait a bit for a sub gauge with engraving and most exellent wood |

I finally got tired of waiting, and allowed myself to be seduced by a little semi-auto.
I'll still probably wind up owning one, but it won't be as soon as I had planned. Just wish they had waited to start telling us about it until it was actually ready for the production stage. A flash in the pan, a puff of smoke, and a prayer to the great Lord on high...

I have no use really for an O/U, but I would certainly be interested in a Phoenix.
Insert comical quip here.

Try one and you'll be hooked. --Jim

I need to do some reading on them, but I am sure it would be nice in my safe. I do not under stand those 70/30 ribs, I would have to do reading on what gauge, etc.
Insert comical quip here.

A 70/30 rib. OK, what this means is that when pattern a gun against a target with a + in it, with a 70/30 rib, 70% of the shot goes above the horizontal part of the line and 30% below. the rib raises the muzzle and lowers the breech when you line it up. This is designed to compensate for a fast rising clay. They also have 60/40 and I have even heard of (but not seen) 80/20.

So what is preferred? Or is shooter preference?
Insert comical quip here.
|

it is strictly preference and shooter style. Most folks though go for 70/30. --Jim

Is there any update on the release? Last I heard was the first of the year.

No definitive release date but at the SHOT Show they seemed to hope they would be available this spring. They did not even have one to demo at the show so I am really not sure.
|
|
Spring is what I am hearing, too. Although with the passing of Bill Mains, the status and availability of the Sousa, 5E and 6E grades are up in the air.

I still want one. It would be nice if they release a sporting clays model.
|
|
I hope they do, too. I have asked if they would consider it. Most of my customers are target shooters. --Jim

Is it still sounding like the Phoenix will be released some time this spring?
