Just purchased my first Ithaca

I just purchased a model 51 that looks brand new. trying to find out the value and do they make slug barrel for it.

Do you have any pictures of it? And the serial number can help track down what year it was made.

If you provide a serial number and a picture of any other relevant markings, I'm sure I could look it up for you...

They did make a Deerslayer slug barrel in the 70's and 80's for the model 51. All production on the 51 stopped in 1987 when General Recreation went bankrupt and Ithaca was sold to the Neal family and moved to King Ferry, NY. Those barrels are still floating around the internet for those with a watchful eye. There is one on Gunbroker.com right now and Les Hovencamp of Diamond Gunsmithing has one in his shop in Ithaca. Diamondgunsmithing.com. They are a smooth bore, roto forged barrel with rifle sights just like the original Deerslayer barrel for the model 37.
