I see these at times for pretty damned inexpensive for a semiauto shotty. Is there some issue with the gas/recoil system that makes these in-op with age? If so, what wears?
Thanks
Reliability concerns?

Twisted Oak did a real nice write up on the 51 about 7 months ago. Try reading that post, you should find all the answers you need.

Hmmm, so part of the action cracks. I have an inverter TIG so I suppose I can roll the dice.
Will it manually cycle with the cracked action or does it jam up? Insert comical quip here.

The action will be jammed however as Twisted Oak pointed out if proper maintenance is performed you should never have a problem. Buffers and the action spring can be bought from Diamond Gun Smiting found in the vendors section of this forum.
