Factory Barrel Length(s)?

Hi: I've seen ads for Mag-10s with 32" and 28" barrels. I recently handled one that had been cut down to 26" and had a front bead put on. Unfortunately, someone had also taken a grinder to the inside of the muzzle to re-create some choke. So, my question is: what original barrel length(s) did Ithaca offer? What years or serial numbers mark significant changes in the Mag-10? Thanks very much, Ed

Wow! The response to my question has been overwhelming. I just bought my first Mag-10, a standard model with a 32” plain barrel with Full choke. It’s lightly used, with only a few carrying/handling marks. I’m wondering if anyone would be interested in contributing to a Serial Number vs. Year of Manufacture list? For example, my SN is 100021xxx and the original owner believes his dad purchased it in 1987. I’d love to hear from others who are willing to submit similar data. As far as I’ve been able to determine nobody has posted a comprehensive list of SN vs. Year. We could be the first! Thanks, Ed

I think the mag 10 was offered in 28"/30"&32"
they also had 26" slug barrels ,but i'm not sure if they were smoothbore or rifled or both

I have an Ithaca Mag10. I do believe it is one of the very early ones. Serial Number 100000970. Bought it new in 1974. It is the surpreme model with 32" barrel. I have seen an Ithaca Mag10 with a 36" barrel. Donald.
