I've read that the receiver on my old M66 was aluminum. I've always wanted to replace that gun. At the gun show in Canandaigua today, a vendor told me that those were "pot metal" and were prone to breakage. Now I've been doing a little research and can find references to both aluminum and pot. Does anyone know for sure what those receivers were made from?

I'm not sure. I haves a 20 gauge, near mint that has been passed from my father to me, and now to my oldest son (almost 7). I'll try too get it out in the next couple of days and see if I can tell. I've never heard of one cracking though.

I sure would like too get hold of a .410 for the boys. Of course I would not use it at all don't you know.
