Gentlemen, this is my first post. I was refered here from the Parker gun forum where I am fairly active. I have always been a lover and shooter of vitage doubles and now have picked up my first
Ithaca, beautiful Grade 3 Lewis, 12 ga. I went back thru many old issues of DGJ and re-read Walt SImagenyder's fine articles on Ithacas to get a little education, and now some pictures:

It is a 12 ga , in good condition. The chain damascus is very nice shape. The gun seems to be all original. The butt plate is original and good shape, screws are nice. There is a little splinter of the fore end next to the ebony tip. It has a little more drop than I like, but I could shoot it(haven't yet). To me, this would be the equivalent of a GH (maybe even DH) Parker or A grade Fox--damn I wish it were a 16 ga.

Setterspell,
I saw that gun and left without it, but it continued to gnaw at me until I went up and made them a low-ball offer which they took. I'm not much for 12 ga's but couldn't resist.

had a fellow want to trade me even for a very, nice little Belgium guild 16 that weighs less than 6 lbs.
Just cant let myself part with it. I will take it to the Southern SXS to show it to friends--any body here going?
Think I'll just buy that little 16--I'm kind of a 16 fanatic.

Can't make it to the Southern - work and not enough money just always seems to get in the way of having fun!
