The new to me model 37 20 gauge that I mentioned in an earlier post needs a little attention to the forearm wood. It looks really faded with a lot of the finish gone. Do any of y'all know what Ithaca used to finish the stocks and forearms back in the 40's and 50's? I'd like to get my hands on some of it if I could. I'm going to try just treating it with BLO, think it will work?

Colonel, before you do anything, let me check around for you. I know a few stockers that might know.

I struck out all over the place, Col. Noone seems to know exactly what they used back then.

Sorry.
