Here is a pic of the Marine Combat blade. The blades need a final sharpening. They have been stamped, ground, heat treated, bead blasted and Parkerized. Camillus would then put them on a sanding belt to sharpen them after installing the stacked leather washers for a handle. The best way to order is to email me at Steve@gunblack.com with Camillus blade in the email subject. We take Paypal for payment on blades and our GunBlack t-shirts and GunBlack Sack-Ups. We will post pics of the new shirts and gunsocks soon and set up our online ordering on our website.

Alright guys, I stepped up and ordered six of the Marine Combat knives (one for me, one each for my three boys, my dad, and my brother). Next pay day I'll order the pilot knives to go with them. Now it's ya'll's turn! Think about it, that ain't a bad price at all. What do they ask for well used combat knives at gun and knife shows? As much or more than what GunBlack is selling these for. That and Camillus was a very fine knife maker and there won't be any more of these to be had once they are gone.

Seriously these ought to make some fine knives once they have a handle and a good sharpening. I'm thinking a nice set of Osage Orange handles. Ought to be tough and good looking to boot! Anybody know a good knife maker who could handle these for me?

Gentlemen, I received my knives today!!! Steve thank you so much. Absolutely beautiful! I couldn't be happier with the blades or the price. Give your boss my thanks, and tell him that I'll be placing another order.

As to the handles, I spoke with a guy on shotgunworld who apprenticed with a well known knife maker years ago about the handles. He gave me some pointers and some instruction. I think I'm going to tackle at least one of them myself. The handle is going to be green canvas micarta. I'll try to post some pics when I get it done.

Thanks again Steve, absolute pleasure doing business with you!

Thanks Dan. Here it's what I've settled on for at least one of them. Green canvas micarta with stainless steel hardware. I should be getting after it in a couple of weeks.

So here are a few of the handles I came up with. A friend made me the polymer and deer horn handles. I have started experimenting with paracord handles. I started with this simple wrap with a lanyard. Let me know what you folks think.

Those are cool. That paracord stuff is pretty cool. I've seen some pretty cool stuff made out of paracord.

My blades arrived Saturday! I love these things. They will look great once I get my Manzanita burl and Osage Orange wood. I'm going to try the first one in Cocobolo.

Got wood!!! I'll be doing some shaping of handles this weekend. I have some 1911 grips to do as well. The box of Osage Orange has some beautiful stock in it!!! Air dried for a year with no cracks. Nice. I need to get some rivets, pommels, and something else....I can't remeber off hand. But pix will be in order later on. I'll probably post em up in the Knife sub forum instead of hijacking this topic anymore...

Thanx again Steve and Gunblack!
